My client, a leading IT Company in Lincoln has an immediate requirement for a Software Architect.
Job Role: To design and develop complex network management applications to enable provisioning, management and billing of services for virtual networks and servers within virtual data centres. You will be experienced in designing and developing robust applications, with direct experience of using Linux and open standards-based development techniques and tools. You will possess the ability to lead and mentor other team members and display enthusiasm and commitment to team success. Accountabilities; Interpret written business requirements and technical specifications documents in order to design and deliver large scale systems. Code, develop and implement agreed designs ensuring they meet written technical specifications. Create and maintain technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates. Create, document and implement unit test plans to ensure effectiveness and quality of systems. Maintain quality of own work in order to deliver to agreed time scales and cost. Support and guide other team members to ensure systems are robust, flexible, scalable and are built to the required specification. Implement and maintain coding standards across the team to ensure consistency. IT Skills: Linux Distributed multi-tier systems Data capture, storage, management & retrieval Internet & web applications IP networking At least one or more of the following development languages in a Linux environment: Perl, PHP, C/C++, Flash/Action Script & JavaScript, XML, SOAP, AJAX/DHTML Billing Systems Knowledge of Java, Linux Shell, SQL Over 2 years work experience in a similar position Experienced in designing & developing robust & complex network management applications & front end systems Direct experience of designing & developing database & network applications using Linux & open standards-based development techniques & tools |
