Senior Infrastructure Engineer with a minimum of 5 years IT experience is required for a key technical role within a growing department of a London IT Support & IT Services Company. You will be a prominent & high level technical member of staff providing technical expertise on all major technologies.
.Network .IP level networking, inc: .MPLS .Routing .Layer 2 & 3 switching .VLAN, QOS .Firewall configuration .WAN technologies, inc: .ADSL, SDSL, Leased Lines, LES, WES .VPN, ISAKMP, IPSEC .Network Services: DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL, SMTP .Network & system design .Hardware .Hardware technologies in use on the managed network, inc: .Cisco routers, firewalls, access points & switches .Sonicwall firewalls .Linksys switches & access points .Zyxel routers & switches .Draytek routers .Server hardware including: .RAID configuration .Dell & HP server builds & maintenance .Blade server builds & maintenance .Storage hardware incl: .SAN, DAS & NAS technologies .Fibre Channel & iSCSI .Tape drives & autoloaders .Virtualisation technologies incl: .VMWare Server .ESX Server .Windows Virtual Server 2005 .Windows server solutions incl: .SBS 2000 and 2003 .Windows Server 2000 & 2003 .Terminal Services .Exchange 2000 & 2003 .SQL Server 2000 & 2005 .WSUS .SharePoint Services .Group policies .Data Protection Manager .Demonstrate a high level of aptitude & independence in developing solutions and providing measurable improvements to complex issues which may fall outside of the scope of immediate expertise. .Independently manage & continue to develop the internal infrastructure and within managed client sites ensuring that: .Services are maintained & delivered to a high level. .Ensure that all aspects of the infrastructure are monitored using standard monitoring tools and develop new monitoring capabilities to meet changing requirements. .Consistent progress is made towards improving the quality of the service. .All work is carried out in a timely manner, indicative of the level of technical expertise which is inherent in the role. .Appropriate documentation of all managed services is maintained at all times. .Provide an escalation point for all members of staff & all technical levels, taking the lead on troubleshooting complex issues & providing conclusive results to these issues. .Fill a consultative role for implementation of complex system designs & deliver on specific targets as per the project plan. .Provide input and often take the lead on R & D of appropriate technologies to implement into the product offering. Key Deliverables .Quality of consultative, implementation and troubleshooting work carried out on managed systems. .Time taken to complete assigned work, based on a comparison with a non-senior role. .Quality and relevance of documentation. .Personal and team utilisation in the context of project involvement. |
