Delivering fully integrated award winning solutions centred around technical excellence and based on a sound commercial understanding, they seek additional customer facing Pre Sales Consultants ("Solution Design Consultants") with sound generalist IP based networking experience (WAN / LAN, MPLS, IPVPN, Wireless) and an understanding of Unified Communication technologies such as Cisco Call Manager, Unified Messaging, Videoconferencing and Microsoft OCS.
Reporting into the Solution Design Team Leader within the Sales & Marketing function, the Solution Design Consultant takes a consultative approach to understanding the business and technical needs of customers and prospects and to the development of appropriate solutions to meet those needs. Working closely alongside the Sales Account Manager, the Solution Design Consultant is involved in all aspects of the technical sales process from initial qualification through to proposal and/or quote submission and closure. The Solution Design Consultant should have a high level of general technical knowledge of the products and services making up the client's core solution set plus, preferably, expertise in one or more specialist technology areas. High Level Responsibilities: -To align behaviour towards the client's strategy, beliefs and values -To fully understand a customer or prospect's requirements in depth and to own and manage the overall design of appropriate single or multiple element product and service proposals. -Ensure that proposals meet requirements of the customer and the client and act as a joint owner of the opportunity alongside Sales where necessary -To identify and liaise with appropriate internal and external resources required to successfully develop the required proposals and giving input to Product definition and requirements -To utilise internal processes, methodologies and tools and to assist, where necessary with the mapping of these to customer equivalents. -To work closely with Sales Account Managers to both understand and develop customer opportunities with a focus on identifying customer business requirements and creating winning proposals through an advisory or fee paying consultative approach. -To assist the customer in understanding and analysing current and future business issues and opportunities and to suggest appropriate propositions. -To enhance customer satisfaction by maintaining a high standard of behaviour, knowledge and skills in satisfying customer requirements. Specific Responsibilities: -Pre proposal technical qualification and requirements capture. -Preparation of first pass solution overview. -Ownership and management of high level solution design. -Production of internal scope of works. -Technical design quality control. -Supporting Sales Account Manager in preparation and delivery of proposal presentation material to customers. -Providing the first port of call for technical sales support. -Liaising with vendors predominately on leading edge/Advanced IP technologies. -To maintain knowledge of relevant industry and competitor technologies, products, services, protocols and solutions and to be aware of relevant industry trends, standards and regulatory requirements. -To assist sales to target appropriate clients to drive specific propositions. -To acquire and retain appropriate vendor and other accreditations. -To ensure that all necessary reporting and forecast tracking is completed within the required timescales. -To establish and maintain appropriate business and technical customer relationships with the support of the Sales Account Manager. -Assist with the development of formal sales plans for assigned opportunities. Skills and Attributes: The Solution Design Consultant is a critical role in supporting revenue generation for the company and which requires highly motivated individuals who have the ability and willingness to apply their skills to the best advantage of both the client and the client's customers. -A confident, self-motivated, individual who is able to deliver results. -Flexible and Agile in work attitude and style across technology and geographical diversity -Appropriate high level of technical skills. -The ability to understand complex business and technical requirements and the ability to design the appropriate solution or solicit the required resources to help do so. -Good problem solving and decision making skills. -To be able to demonstrate effectiveness through a high level of professionalism as identified through coaching and customer satisfaction feedback -Excellent written and verbal communication to senior levels of organisations -Strong listening, negotiation and presentation skills. -Comfortable in presenting to internal individuals and teams and to confidently represent the client at all levels within customers and prospects. -High level understanding of the complete solution capability at a UK and European level. -Willingness to own and take responsibility for allocated deliverables within the sales process. -Ability to challenge the status quo and entrenched perceptions through innovation. |
