Position: Production Manager – Construction Materials
Location: North, Welton, Carlisle, Cumbria Salary: Competitive salary, 25 days holiday, and the option to participate in the company’s Pension Scheme and Share Incentive Plan. A Steadman & Son Limited (usually known as Steadmans) has been Established since 1911 and the firm has grown in the past 20 years to become a major manufacturer and supplier to the construction and agricultural industries. Specialising in galvanised roofing sections, composite panels, profiled metal cladding, associated roofing products and fibre cement sheeting. Due to our continued expansion a new role has arisen for a Production Manager reporting to the Production Director. The purpose of the role is to support the strategy for manufacturing and continuous improvement. Provide direction and leadership and manage day-to-day business across the function. The successful post holder will: Manage the manufacturing operations consistent with the objectives of the company Liaise regularly with H&S manager regarding site requirements Monitor absence figures and liaise with HR department Ensure future training needs are met and staff potential is developed Set up manufacturing processes Prioritise orders and make optimum use of key equipment Create ways to recycle materials Promote best practice across the group and ensure standards are maintained Ensure strong relationships are generated between the operations team and key internal and external customers The successful Candidate will be: An experienced Production Manager with a track record of delivering quality products within budget Capable of driving a manufacturing and logistics function Customer focused and in depth understanding of internal and external customer relationships Well organised, a good planner with proven negotiation skills. We are looking for someone who has Production experience who can drive the business forward.
