PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To provide commercial support to business segments during bid management, contract award and execution activities. KEY RESPONSABILITIES - Facilitating order capture by the business segments by ensuring an acceptable balance between contractual performance risk and profitability. Drafting of commercial responses to bids, contractual disputes etc - Agree with business segment Vice President's the contractual criteria for bid preparation, submission, negotiation and acceptance. - Support business segments on contractual issues, interpretation and risks that arise during post acceptance execution - Access potential liabilities (express or implied) in both pre and post contract circumstances - Provide written inputs to phase review and tender vet approval processes being undertaken by the business segments - Liaise with procurement on prime contract terms and conditions that are to be flowed down to sub-contractors - Support International markets as is required in order to secure effective penetration of foreign defence electronics markets - Work in conjunction with the Legal Support Sub-Function on the provision of Export Services (Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Insurances etc) to the Business Segments and International Markets. - Supervise, develop, motivate and direct team members as and when required Skills & Experience - Essential - At least 5 years experience in a Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager position - Highly experienced in contracts and purchasing - Experience of supervising, motivating and directing a team - Preference towards experience in the defence and communications industry sectors Key Competences - Critical thinking/ problem solving - Commitment to results / deliver quality on time - Innovative - Well organised - Attention to detail Personal Attributes - Team player - Good communicator - Able to handle pressure - Build relationships |
