My Client, a Vodafone Company. Perform the role of Business/Systems Analyst on consulting engagements with customers, typically at the start of the project life cycle. Help develop the Business Analyst skills within the department including mentoring junior and trainee Business Analysts. Carry out Project Management and pre-sales activities where appropriate. Role Summary My Client, a Vodafone Company. Perform the role of Business/Systems Analyst on consulting engagements with customers, typically at the start of the project life cycle. Help develop the Business Analyst skills within the department including mentoring junior and trainee Business Analysts. Carry out Project Management and pre-sales activities where appropriate. Essence of Role To carry out consulting engagements, delivering against customer requirements and expectations. An engagement could be of a strategic nature, e.g. Business Process Re-engineering - Advising on Customer Relationship Management, Mobile Field Service or Supply Chain Management Developing a Change Management Programme etc. Alternatively it could be a more traditional Business/Systems Analysis assignment at the start of a project Running Workshops Producing Functional Specifications etc. It is also likely that the individual will have involvement throughout the whole project life cycle, e.g. assisting with test planning, UAT support, etc. The individual may have full Project Management responsibility (scope, budget, schedule management) on a given piece of work, or this may be handled by another individual, depending upon the resource profile of the project. In any event, the individual will be expected to work with minimal supervision whilst engaging with the customer. Depending on the size of the engagement, the individual may have a team of junior consultants to manage, and be accountable for the quality of their deliverables. The individual will be expected to support pre-sales engagements with specific customers, developing proposals and supporting the process through to clear and agreed work orders' for consulting engagements. To assist in developing the capabilities of the Consulting team in the area of strategic consulting in particular, e.g. Developing suitable presentation material. Coaching and mentoring junior staff. Amending the Consultancy Delivery Methodology etc. To maintain up-to-date skills in specialist knowledge areas: e.g. Field Service, Scheduling To establish and maintain strong working relationships with other members of the Consultancy team Role Dimension Financial (limits/mandates etc.) May manage projects of up to £750K Non-financial (customers/staff etc) Work on projects ranging from under 100 to over 1,000 man days A significant amount of time will be spent working on projects on customers' premises May mentor up to 5 people on BA-type skills May manage up to 5 people on a given project - May line manage several more junior consultants Typical Outputs Business Process Maps (As is and To be) Functional Specifications Project Plans Strategic Reviews Weekly Status Reports Maintain Risk and Issue register Change Requests Project Initiation Documents Customer Presentations Project Initiation Documents Proposals Statement of Work or (parts thereof) Technical/Professional Expertise Educated to degree level or equivalent industry experience. Solid background in Consultancy and Information Technology In depth Business/Systems Analysis experience - Knowledge of Mobile Field Service Management or Scheduling applications( Ideally one or more of ViryaNet, Dexterra, Sidewinder or Click) Proficiency in differing project methodologies (, etc.) Good written and verbal communication skills; good customer management and team motivation skills Experience of pre-sales carrying out high level design, feasibility studies, proof of concepts etc |
