| Job Title: | Midshift Manager | ||

Responsibilities will be wide ranging and include the following:-
•Reporting directly to the Depot Manager and supervising Shift Supervisors (Days and Midshift), Traffic Office Staff, all drivers and warehouse staff. •Ensuring that all operational standards and procedures within the depot are carried out during the midshift operation as laid down in the Company Operations Quality Procedures Manual. •Carrying out the laid down company instructions and procedures at the depot in the absence of the Depot Manager. •Maintaining the depot at all times in a clean and tidy condition, ensuring that all legal, health and safety and Company policy requirements are strictly adhered to. •Ensuring all areas of depot activity are carried out within the laid down Company and Health and Safety Policy. •Improving the training and standard of all operational management and supervisory staff under your control using the Company Operations Quality Procedures Manual and Depot Computer Manual. •Conducting induction of all new employees to include relevant operational and health and safety procedures. •Ensuring that containers and trailers required for the night trunk operation are in position, swept and in good repair and to report and action with depot management any defects found. •Ensuring that any misroutes and crossdeck held over consignments are loaded on to the correct trunk vehicle. •Ensuring that trunk loading is followed with particular attention to axle weight and overall weights, and where any consignment which may cause potential overloading on a vehicle, container or trailer is found - decide on the appropriate course of action. •Undertaking security spot checks of vehicle loading to ensure that the correct traffic is being loaded on to the correct vehicle. The successful candidate should possess previous transport industry experience and will be able to manage staff and procedures in a busy working environment.
