Main Role:
Working closely with the Sector Leader, the role is to ensure the generation and growth of sales revenue, through emphasis on new business development.

This means;
To initiate, build and develop the company's business revenue stream for Data products and services.

To identify and target those organisations where large quantities of data are provided as a central part of their business.

To identify opportunities for the company's products and services within the projects being undertaken by these organisations.

To establish and maintain awareness of the company's products and services as leaders in their marketplaces.

Key Responsibilities:

Working closely with, and under the guidance of the Sector Leader;

Develop the business flow to ensure all the agreed targets of software licence sales and supporting services revenue are met while ensuring maximum client satisfaction.

Operate proactively at senior level within accounts to provide maximum exposure and credibility in exploiting the opportunities identified.

Build strong working relationships with the company's consultancy and delivery resource to ensure effective and profitable use is made of the products and services being proposed and sold.

Maintain maximum exposure, an adequate flow of opportunities to fulfil financial targets.

Work with the Sector Leader to provide accurate performance measurement and forecasts of business planned via creation and maintenance of an effective pipeline

Achievement of agreed activity levels for telephone calls – account management and new business prospecting, appointments, and proposals writing, on a month-by-month basis.

Demonstrate effective time management e.g. ability to plan activities, making effective use of diary and location.

Qualifications and Experience:

A minimum of five years experience of sales experience engaged in strategic solution sales in the business computer software / services sector.

Strong awareness of the business software solutions marketplace, ideally in address management products, Bureau environment or customer relationship management.

Knowledge of strengths and weaknesses of significant competitors in the Market place.

Able to demonstrate a successful and consistent record of achievement of allocated sales targets.

Familiarity with the process of winning deals utilising a consultative sales approach, demonstrating a personal track record of multi-level, multi-stage strategic selling in the board room environment.

Experience of justifying the value of all resources requested internally to win and deliver a project, and the ability to inspire and motivate in-house teams engaged in winning both medium and high value sales.

Understanding of the process of planning a sales strategy, targeting prospects and planning appropriate marketing approaches.

Demonstrate detailed knowledge of appropriate vertical sector (Utilities, Finance, Retail, Travel, Leisure, Public)

Knowledge of contract negotiations and ability to negotiate at this level with procurement. Ideally some experience with Data, Address Management or information products
