An innovative, global blue chip, family owned company based in Cambridgeshire is looking to recruit a Packaging Planner to join their Supply Chain Team. Reporting into the Supply Logistics Manager you will optimise the supply of packaging materials to the factory.
As the Packaging Planner you will monitor the availability of packaging products in line with the production plans and finished products ensuring product availability at all times. You will raise purchase orders, maintain the in house MRP and SAP systems and develop effective working relationships with several other functions internally. You will calculate and record obsolete stock items and monitor Key Performance Indicators. You will participate in periodic supplier reviews and develop supplier relationships with the commercial team. The ideal candidate for the role will have previous experience within a Supply Chain role with an understanding of the Supply Chain process. You will be numerically strong with experience of using an MRP based planning system. Previous experience of working within a Food Manufacturer or in the fresh produce industry would be beneficial but not essential. A good understanding of packaging requirements would also be beneficial. You must have strong analytical skills together with effective communication and organisational skills.
