| Job Description: |
Minimum requirements, HND in Electronics with at least 3 years experience working in an Engineering/Technical environment.
Experience: The candidate must have worked within an electronic discipline and contributed in some way to New Product Development through one or more of the following: 1) By supporting Development Engineering Teams in building and testing prototype products. 2) By supporting Development Engineering Teams in Type Testing of prototype products. 3) By being responsible for the design and build of New Products. 4) By being responsible for the design and application of Test equipment used in the validation of Product. Skills: 1) Able to read and understand circuit diagrams. 2) Able to scratch build prototype circuits using prototyping board etc. 3) Familiarisation with basic service test equipment, DMMs, oscilloscopes etc. 4) Able to fault find circuits to component level. 5) Able to use basic hand tools in the construction of equipment enclosures etc. 6) Must have good wiring skills and be able to use a range of crimp tools etc. 7) Must have good PC skills. 8) Must be a good communicator both written and verbal. 9) Good team player but able to work on his/her own with minimum supervision. Knowledge: 1) Knowledge of electrical and electronic components and able to interpret appropriate data sheets. 2) Understanding of equipment safety and familiarisation with appropriate safety standards. Including the Low Voltage Directive, IEC61010 and CE marking. 3) Awareness of the EMC, RoHS and WEEE Directives. 4) Good understanding of Micro-Soft Office software, in particular Word and Excel. 5) Basic knowledge of LABVIEW software. 6) Demonstrate an active desire to design electronic circuits. 7) Familiar with PICs in both hardware and software terms. 8) Able to use PCB layout software. |
