You will need to be Self-driven, able to multi-task, customer-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Comfortable in dealing with customers both in the UK and worldwide where the culture can differ. Reliable, tolerant, and determined as well as good attention to detail. Excellent communicator, able to see things from the other person's point of view. Well presented and businesslike. Able to detect problems and find solutions in a calm and efficient manner. Keen for responsibility and accountability. Able to get on with others and be a team-player. Must be able to take ownership of your customers. Reporting to the Sales & marketing Director, you will support the sales team by managing the day-to-day activities of their customers. This involves taking ownership of orders from receipt to dispatch ensuring open communication internally and externally. Supporting this role will be developing a relationship with customers to grow sales and maximise profit. Some new business activities will be included. Key responsibilities and accountabilities: 1.The day to day main point of contact in the business for customers 2.Ensure customer contract details are set up, maintain price records, order terms and conditions and validating customer purchase orders 3.Manage sales orders process from receipt to dispatch. 4.Liaison with internal order-processing staff i.e planning and dispatch 5.Maintain and develop existing and new customer accounts. 6.Maintain and develop a computerised customer and prospect database. 7.Respond to and follow up sales enquiries. 8.Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information. 9.Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys. 10.Maintain and report on equipment and software suitability for direct marketing and sales reporting purposes. 11.Handle all ongoing queries and customer liaison, samples etc 12.Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development. 13.Attend exhibitions both in the UK, Europe and potentially worldwide Experience required Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience managing accounts, customers, and particularly achieving genuine sales development. Previous account management experience and export process useful but not essential. Computer skills Must be adept in use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally PowerPoint as well as Access or similar database to basic level, Internet and email.
